La Mensa
La Mensa, also known as 'The Communal Table' by Pim and Lorainne, is a restaurant where you can enjoy their culinary passion. The restaurant, located in Antwerp-Harmonie, serves world cuisine and a mix of traditional but also innovative surprising flavors. The latter is certainly true. Our food was so unique and finger-licking good! Their menu is seasonal and changes every 2 months. They are open for both lunch ànd dinner. For lunch, they serve an à la carte menu including dishes such as toasts, pinsas and salads. For dinner, they serve a 2, 3 and 4-course menu. Not to forget, they have a small but fine wine list that has been carefully selected, all with a nice short story. PS: they also do catering and events. Their interior and overall vibes are cozy and so homey. I really love their open kitchen. Their interior also has some ‘hidden circular spots’. For example, the curtain at the entrance is made from loose pieces of used interior fabric. The wooden wall is composed of used wood from various projects by architectural firm CONIX RDBM. And there are even more items that are reused in the restaurant, so definitely worth to pay a visit! Prices for lunch dishes are between €13,5 and €21,5. Prices for the 2, 3 and 4-course menu are €40, €49 and €55. Prices for wines by the glass are between €5,5 and €9. • Asian steak tartare (samjang, avocado, sesame mayo)• Green asparagus (cashew, yuzu-miso, hazelnut, grapefruit)• Limoncello Spritz• Cava (organic)• Tuna tataki (ponzu-truffle dressing, sweet and sour vegetables)• Bigoli pasta (pumpkin, chanterelles, pine nuts, strachiatella, truffle oil)• Diamond tenderloin (poultry-Duvel sauce, leek, chicory, eggplant)• Red wine (Listoria, Barbera D’Asti, Cascina Barisel)• Eton mess (seasonal fruit, vanilla, meringue)• Chocolate (coffee, dulce de leche, blueberry, whiskey)
