Bar Mike
Bar Mike is a local gastrobar in the city center of Ghent. They serve Scandinavian and locally inspired comfort food in the form of bites, sharing dishes, and specials. It’s a small kitchen offering carefully crafted dishes. But what you probably expected from a gastrobar is an extensive drinks menu, right? Exactly! Bar Mike serves a wide variety of beers, wines, cocktails, and more. Bites are available from 1pm, and sharing dishes from 3pm. In the evening, they turn up the music and stay open until 1am. The interior of Mike is super cool and trendy, with an overall urban and laid-back vibe. Since it’s a collaboration with Nordic House, much of their furniture is featured throughout the space. But what I think is the coolest part is their terrace. It’s such a vibe. Fun fact: the name Mike actually comes from their dog, who’s absolutely adorable! Prices for bites are between €7 and €16. Prices for sharing dishes are between €12 and €18. Prices for desserts are around €8. Prices for wines by the glass are between €6,5 and €12. Prices for cocktails are between €9 and €15. • Banh Mi dog (brioche bun, nyc sausage, spicy sriracha mayo, pickled carrots, cucumber, fresh jalapenos and cilantro)• Kötbullar (hand rolled Swedish meatballs served with spicy mushroom dip)• Loaded hummus (loaded hummus with shirazi, topped with casa astrid olive oil, served with homemade naan)• Orange wine (Petit Piaf)• Warm breadpudding, san Pietro vanilla ice cream, sweet blueberry syrup• Espresso martini
