Leo
Leo is an artisanal bakery in Antwerp-Brederode. Unlike most bakeries, you won’t find bread here—only fine patisserie and viennoiserie, freshly baked throughout the day so everything is as fresh as possible. The bakery has been around for 4 years and quickly became a go-to spot for sweet indulgence in the neighborhood. Behind Leo is @sander_goossens , former head pastry chef at Domestic. He opened the bakery in honor of his late grandfather—also a baker—passing on the love for the craft from one generation to the next. Sander’s style is classic yet innovative, without unnecessary fuss. Expect buttery croissants, perfectly layered pains au chocolat, lemon and plum tarts, raspberry macarons, tiramisu cake with mascarpone, and even creations with truffle. Everything is made with top-quality ingredients, from the butter and flour to the freshest seasonal fruit. The interior feels like stepping back in time, with ocher and brown tones from floor to wall, as if the clock stopped half a century ago. On the weathered marble counter, Sander’s creations shine all the brighter. Leo is only open on Saturdays and Sundays, making it a true weekend treat. Prices for pastries are between €2,95 and €3,25.
